Blueberry picking was fantastic!

We had a great time today!!! There was a few raindrops and a few loud rumbles of thunder but it was otherwise great. The few minutes the sun was out full force was quite hot so the rain afterward was very refreshing. I’d never been blueberry picking before so it was just as exciting for me as it was for the kids. Ari picked a lot and ate quite a few. Kayden ate more than she picked I’m sure. LOL Miss Rebecca parked herself at the edge of the basked and ate to her hearts content. It was SOOO cute, I wish I’d remembered my big ancient digital camera. Tim found a bush with REALLY big berries, some could probably fill a quarter they were so big. :) I think we picked about 12 pounds! I’ve got 18 cups in bags in the freezer already and I’m trying to decide how to divvy out the rest.

We went to Russell’s Blueberry Farm on Frost Rd near Saginaw. The berries were 1.45 a lb so we made quite a haul. We pretty much missed the strawberries again this year so I’m hoping to find a u-pick Raspberry place so we have something other put up besides blueberries. :) The other thing I want to find is Blackberries. I have fond memories of picking buckets of those when I was little. YUM!!!!

Well I have an 8am class so I better get off here. Nite All!

July 10, 2007 at 11:17 am (Uncategorized)

DH and I decided we wanted to do a couple Cotton Ease squares so we picked up some Charcoal and that is what I’m working on along with all my other POTN. lol

You can see more info on the Charity Blanket Squares here charityblankets.blogspot.com

Hopefully today we are going Blueberry picking. Some other moms from my group picked a place in Saginaw to go. Sounds really cute, I hope we won’t be the only ones there.
